What Makes Rahul a Winner and Manmohan a Loser?

It is no surprise, then, that as many as 55 percent of the respondents felt that it’s time Singh was replaced. Even those who felt he is knowledgeable and possessed experience said he lacked the required governing-skills. Overall, four out of ten respondents expressed unhappiness over the prime minister’s governance.  But the question is: Is Rahul any better than Manmohan Singh?

There isn’t anything to show that Rahul has a firm grip on economic, political or any other issue that currently haunts the nation. Beyond a preference for populism, Rahul has not shed any light on his economic philosophy, as reported by Firstpost.

Writer, Mihir Sharma recently said, Rahul Gandhi “studiously avoids policy principles,” and sees him as a failure. He has “shown himself unable to pick the right people, and unable to pick the right issues.” If Congress is serious about coming back to power, it should sack him. And if it doesn’t, Rahul should ‘’sack himself’’ and take up an entry-level role in the government and instead work towards supporting Manmohan Singh.

Yet, many respondents chose Rahul Gandhi over Manmohan Singh. What do these respondents see in him that they don’t see in Manmohan Singh? Perhaps his high-decibel speech and theatrics has had them deceived. It is a matter of curious nature as to why, in a party that is not completely lacking in leaders; the only name that comes up as the next PM is that of one who perhaps qualifies the least.
