Maya Spends 86 Crore of Public Money on Her Bungalow

Destruction of buildings had been normal phenomena for Mayawati since she has done the same for the completion of most of her dream projects. The stadium that Mayawati demolished for the expansion of Ambedkar Park in Lucknow, destruction of 300-year-old jail for Kanshi Ram Park and demolition of government officer’s residential colony for Buddh Vihar project are some examples of her destruction stories.

However, the bungalow that Mayawati has made shows her instincts for the perfection. The buildings in the compound were altered several times to meet Mayawati’s choices. As ET reports, an official said one bathroom in the main building was redone about a dozen times because Mayawati was not satisfied with the earlier ones.

The main building is a single storeyed one consisting of 6 inter-connected rooms. Rooms open the way to a spacious corridor. A precisely framed picture which shows Mayawati taking her first oath as UP chief minister is hanged on a wall in the corridor. The corridor also contains several rows of lockers. There is a verandah with windows fixed of bullet proof glasses outside the corridor. These windows are specifically designed and expensive ones which costs 15 lakh per each.
