People work efficiently when they feel good, not under stress. Feeling good boosts anyone's self-esteem, and being at an influential position, you can make people feel comfortable by simple things like calling them by their names--everyone loves their name, and who would not appreciate being known by their name by their boss? Ask your employees' opinions--this way they feel a part of the organization and feel empowered. Appreciate the work done as this will not only motivate them, but also make them feel that you care for them. The appreciation need not be monetary, a small note or a mail praising their work will do wonders.
