3) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory:

‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ is another wonderful classic by Roald Dahl. It depicts the eventful journey of Charlie, a young and impoverished boy, with a heart of gold. This story introduces its readers to the very eccentric, yet, enigmatic Willy Wonka, who invites five children, including Charlie, to visit his chocolate factory. Wonka’s chocolate factory is a whole new world, where almost everything is edible (made of chocolates and candies) and where the laws of physics seem to get defied. The readers are introduced to five very different children and their experiences at the chocolate factory. This story explores the themes of greed, over-indulgence, selfishness, excessiveness and the like and also their consequences. It also talks of how a compassionate and honest person will go a long way in life.

4) Where the Wild Things Are:

‘Where the Wild Things Are’ was written by Maurice Sendak. This book was previously banned from the market because of the involvement of grisly characters. However, it was re-introduced in the market because it was immensely popular among kids. This story is about a boy named Max, who is transported to the Land of the Wild Things. These wild beasts are giant monsters, which are ferocious and savage. Max, at first, is terrified of them but soon becomes their friend. The wild things do seem scary in the beginning but turn out to be just like loud and boisterous people. This story talks of how our imagination can sometimes stretch beyond limits and how our sub-conscious helps us in solving problems of our waking world.
