There are many times, when brainstorming sessions prove to be stressful, as a solution is expected to the problem. Many people have a fear from speaking in public, which makes them stay away from giving in their ideas. No idea is silly, as it might feel stupid at that moment, but it might work out at a different scenario, and it is a fact that weird ideas usually help to solve critical issues. Encourage your team members to participate and not worry about what others will think. Also, make it an open forum, in the sense that don't burden them by expecting a solution all the time, but give them the broad outline, so that they understand what is expected out of them.
