Howard D. Schultz The Founder and CEO of Starbucks, Howard D. Schultz tops the list of Fortune's 2011 Businessperson of the Year. After he joining Starbucks in 2008, he took the company to a completely different height posting all record revenues and profits. Schultz created his own identity as he took steps to raise funds for job creation and fight political dysfunction in Washington. Schultz authored the book "Pour Your Heart Into It: How Starbucks Built a Company One Cup at a Time" with Dori Jones Yang in 1997. His second book "Onward: How Starbucks Fought for Its Life Without Losing Its Soul" with Joanne Gordon, was published in 2011. Jeffrey P. Bezos The latest Kindle Fire release has boosted Amazon this year. The Founder and CEO of Amazon, Jeffrey P. Bezos stands apart from the crowd. Since most part of the Internet users are in developing market, the international prospects look bright for Amazon. The cloud-computing division of the company can also turn into the next big thing. But the company might reduce its margin as more cash-strapped U.S. states could force Amazon to collect sales taxes. John J. Watson Chevron focused on it future growth on deepwater drilling as soon as former financial analyst, John J. Watson, boarded the company. He was elected President of Chevron International Exploration and Production in 2005, with accountability for the company's exploration and production activities outside North America. In 2008, he was elected Executive Vice President for strategy and development. Watson is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the American Petroleum Institute. He is also a member of the National Petroleum Council, The Business Council, Business Roundtable, the J.P. Morgan International Council and the American Society of Corporate Executives.
