1984-1987:
The beginning:

Michael Dell started PC’s Limited headquartered in his dorm room in 1984 and later dropped out from school to devote his time to his fledging business. In 1985, PC’s Limited designed and created its first computer system using Intel 8088 processor running at 8 MHz, a 10 MB hard drive and a 5.25” floppy disk. In 1986, it unveiled the industry’s fastest PC-12 MHz, 286 based system and opened its first international subsidiary in the UK in 1987.

1988-1991:
Going Public and Global:

In 1988, PC’s Limited released its initial public offering raising $30 million and increasing market capitalization from $1,000 to $85 million. It released its first laptop computer 361LT in 1989 joining the mobile computing revolution. Dell opened its manufacturing center in Limerick, Ireland to better serve customers in Europe and its international sales reached more than double for a third consecutive year in 1991.
