Five Inventors Who Were Killed By Their Inventions
Ismail ibn Hammad al-Jawhar died in an attempt to fly off the roof of a mosque using two wooden wings and a rope. Jawhar was the author of a notable Arabic dictionary and put the words in an alphabetical order. His works included "The Crown of Language and the Correct Arabic", which contained 40,000 dictionary entries. Though he was not able to complete it, his work was submitted by a student. Jawhar like other people had a dream to take off to the skies, but unlike others he tried to turn his dream to a reality, ultimately leading to his death.
