3. JAVA

Since its appearance in 1995, JAVA is one of the superstars in development languages and it’s not going to end anytime soon. Java ecosystem is still strong and vibrant. It has some special features similar to COBOL and is intended to let application developers “write once, run anywhere” which makes it useful in many industries. Some call it the “modern day COBOL.”

4. VBA

VBA is built into almost all Microsoft Office applications. We know that millions use Microsoft Office and related applications and there is hardly any perfect competitor to Office, exist in the market. So even though many people complain about how miserable it is to work with VBA, it will still live along with office at least for another decade until Microsoft comes up with a suitable alternative.
