Mumbai is the capital of Maharastra and is the most populous city in India and fourth most populous in the world. It is the commercial and entertainment capital of India and is one of the world’s top 10 centres of commerce in terms of global financial flow. It has accommodated many important financial institutions such as RBI, the BSE, the NSE, and the SEBI and is the corporate headquarters of many Indian companies and multinational corporations. It also houses the scientific and nuclear institutes like BARC, NPCL, etc and the Department of Atomic Energy. Mumbai has Bollywood and Marathi film and television industry. The business opportunities and the potential to offer a higher standard of living attract migrants from all over India and so it is a miscellany of many communities and cultures. The GDP of Mumbai was $56 billion in 2010 and is expected to raise up to $193 billion, the per capita GDP was $8000 and can increase up to $16,000.
