The CEO of Bridgestone/Firestone manufactured 6.5 million firestone tires in mid 1990s. This apparently led to a tire tread separation. They were especially designed for ford vehicles. They had to finally recall the tires as it spoiled their goodwill in the automobile market. He made a formal apology "I apologize to all shareholders for making you worried." But that was not the end, this blunder led to his resignation and the recalling cost was $350 million.
