Although high-rises comes with expensive price tag that starts from RS.2 crore onwards, developers ask extra amount between rs25 to rs100 per square feet for every floor rise which is highly depends on the amenities and specifications.

"Once people start to experience a better lifestyle in going vertical such as less noise, less pollution, better views and more privacy, they become important factors when buying an apartment," stated J C Sharma , Managing Director, Sobha Developers.

The advantage of building high-rises is that it can comprises more open space, green space and extra amenities than conventional low-rise buildings. "Just by going vertical as a developer you get more open space at the bottom, which adds value to the project," according to Irfan Razack, CMD, Prestige Estates Projects. For instance, if a developer is planning to launch a high-rise on 10-acre land, he would use about 2 or 3 acres because the building will go vertical, leaving the rest as open space.
