Union slams: Over 66,000 cyber fraud cases, only 500 arrests made till now!
The NCRP – National Cyber Crime Portal has obtained 31 lakh complaints regarding cyber-attacks to date since 2020 such as fraudulent loan lending app & ICMR data leaks & so on. As per the official statement from Central government, the key concern is the number of arrests is very lower than the cyber fraud cases. 
The data & information of Central government states that total arrests in cyber fraud cases account to less than 1 percent of the total cases listed by the law enforcement authorities. The official data & information specifies that total cases listed or FIRs filed by diverse law enforcement agencies related to cyber frauds are more than 66,000 but the arrests made since 2020 to till this year are impartially 500. 
The concern subjected to this matter has been raised in diverse meetings conducted by Ministry of Home Affairs & the Ministry of Finance. In a latest meeting of FSDC - Financial Stability and Development Council, stakeholders escalated the issue of lower arrests. 
Officials from diverse sectors escalated their concerns on fraudulent loan lending apps, which are mainly affecting the financial infrastructure of India & harming the overall well-being of people, mainly people from low-come groups. 
Speaking to this, an official subjected to this matter says, “Loan lending apps are denting not only financial institutions but also the public’s economic well-being. Low-income groups are the main victims, with significant amounts of their money being transferred to different countries. Indians involved in the crime and aiding China-based operators are also victims”.
