Thermo Fisher Scientific designs AQMS analyzers to foster Clean-tech initiatives
The Global leader in serving science, Thermo Fisher Scientific has publicized the launch of manufacturing of AQMS – Air Quality Monitoring System analyzers in India. These inventive analyzers will be manufactured, engineered and authorized at the facility of Thermo Fisher in Nasik, Maharashtra. With the manufacturing of analyzers in India, Thermo Fisher has reinvigorated its dedication on taking effectual efforts to strengthen environmental stewardship and fortify its presence in India.
AQMS analyzers are projected to play a vital role in regulating and monitoring the industrial emissions and lend unwavering support for Government in eliminating air pollution as they are designed to present precise insights on air pollutants.
Emphasizing on this launch of monitoring network, Jatinder Singh Kamyotra, Ex - Member Secretary & Director of Central Pollution Control Board says, “The localization will minimize downtime for the availability of these analyzers and enable stakeholders to provide better quality data to formulate policies to positively impact the environment”.
Similarly, Nihar Sahoo, Ph. D., Chief Environmental Engineer, State Pollution Control Board and Head of the National Clean Air Programme, Odisha states,  “The National Clean Air Programme aims at reducing air pollution by 20-40% with a focus on reduction of Pollutants PM10 and PM2.5. To ensure that we achieve these ambitious targets, there is a need for high-quality equipment that provides accurate and consistent baseline data on the particulate and gas pollutants. The programme was initiated in 2019 and since most of the systems, particularly for continuous air monitoring were imported, we faced many challenges in the operations and maintenance of these systems. The availability of Make in India Class 1 CAAQMS systems is likely to reduce the overall cost and turnaround time, thereby accelerating the effective implementation of the program”.
Speaking to the company’s dedication to foster sustainable business of India, Miguel Faustino, President, Chemical Analysis, Thermo Fisher Scientific highlights, “Thermo Fisher’s Mission to enable our customer to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer is aligned to India’s ambitious sustainability goals. The localization of our industry-leading innovations reflects our ongoing investments to address the complex environmental and process monitoring challenges in the country”.
Highlighting the significance of these efforts, Srinath Venkatesh, Managing Director, India & South Asia says, “Air pollution remains a major challenge in India, impacting the health and well-being of millions. By investing in localized capabilities, we strive to strengthen our partnership with government and regulatory stakeholders for action-oriented measures for a healthier, cleaner and safer India”.
