The creator of ChatGPT Open AI acquires Indian Data Analytics startup 'Rockset'

The revolutionizing app ChatGPT maker company OpenAI has just acquired search and database analytics startup Rockset. After acquiring the company as their strategic move OpenAI aims to strategically enhance its data processing, analytics and retrieval capabilities. It will strengthen the position its position in the enterprise, providing it with a competitive advantage.

The company Rockset was established by by Venkat Venkataramani and Dhruba Borthakur in 2016. The CEO of the firm Venkataramani was a student of NIT Tiruchirappalli has a vast knowledge in technology and he has worked with globally acclaimed tech giants Facebook and Oracle. On the other hand, the CTO, Borthakur, is perfectly developing the RocksDB data store at Facebook.

The company Rockset is efficiently offering server-less search and analytics engine that enables developers to build applications without the need for extensive data pipelines. Rockset builds real-time search and analytics databases and has benefited from the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in different applications from chatbots and anomaly detection.

The company has till date raised $105 million in total funding, announced by the company last year. OpenAI has used its shares to acquire the company in a stock deal where Rockset was valued few hundred million.

Rockset's capabilities will enhance OpenAI's ability to quickly access vast amounts of data and information. Lately, The CTO of OpenAI Mira Murati said that, the next generation of ChatGPT will possess "PhD-level intelligence" for specific tasks. This kind of advanced task is expected to launch in late 2025 or early 2026.
