Kerala startup launches AI-driven digital health kiosk
A startup based in Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, has introduced a groundbreaking digital health kiosk named Prognosis. Developed by Versicles Technologies, the kiosk claims to deliver instant and highly accurate basic diagnostics such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and heart conditions at remarkably low prices. The touchscreen-equipped kiosk provides video instructions to users, ensuring precise readings. Its goal is to enhance the accessibility of healthcare facilities. According to the company, the kiosk includes machines for measuring blood pressure, blood sugar, heart conditions (ECG monitor), temperature (wireless Bluetooth thermometer), and weight. Additionally, it offers multilingual instructions through an AI-based voice bot and features a comfortable resting bench for users during the tests.
The kiosk, accessible at myprognosis.ai/kiosk, provides results within a minute and delivers instant recommendations if abnormalities are detected in an individual's vital signs. It can be deployed in diverse settings such as hospitals, offices, malls, and gyms, offering remote care options. Each kiosk is supervised by a certified nurse who can guide users through self-assessments or periodic check-ups.
Kiran Karunakaran, the founder of Versicles Technologies, expressed the company's vision to transform how people access basic health checks, closing the gap between early detection and professional healthcare. He explained that the digital devices in the kiosk transmit data to their cloud-based medical inference AI engine, enabling the identification of hidden conditions like heart arrhythmia and diabetes, facilitating timely connection to expert medical care.
Manoj Dethan, CEO of Versicles Technologies (versicles.com), emphasized the kiosk's avant-garde nature, stating that hospitals across the state can benefit from it. He highlighted its role as an information hub, providing users with insights into various medical services and contributing to the broader mission of promoting health awareness. Notably, Versicles Technologies previously achieved success with Vend'N'Go, an innovative food kiosk product widely embraced in Kerala.
