MySmartPrice Gets Smarter With Rs 2 Crore As Funding


Bangalore: Hyderabad based MySmartPrice, which actively lists products and commodities on their website with attractive price comparison, secured Rs 2 crores funding from Accel Partners & Helion Venture Partners. This funding also adds Ashish Gupta, Managing Director, Helion Venture Partners onto the board of this company. 

MySmartPrice has 8 members in its team and has been in operation since October 2010. This website show cases different products like – mobile phones, cameras, books, laptops, appliances, electronics and draws the attention of a customer by displaying the price difference of the same product available in different stores.

MySmartPrice clearly puts up the product with its picture and pushes the store with the least price on the top of the chart; from here it’s just a click away to buy the product! The company co – founder Sitakanta Ray says ““We have 2.5 million users every month, and have seen a 100% growth in traction since February 2012.”

This funding would be used for further fine tuning of the product and also to hire good human resource especially in the stream of engineering and marketing. Sitakanta also added, “Building the technology team, and distribution of the product are our major challenges. We plan to use the funds to solve these problems.”Youstory reports that MySmartPrice has revenue of Rs 8 Lakhs every month and its major source of revenue is affiliate revenue.

Prior to this both the founders worked together in Oracle and joined hands for MySmartPrice. Sitakanta has had 7 years of work experience and is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore whereas Sulakshan Kumar, co-founder, is also an alumnus of NIT, Rourkela and has worked at firms like Infosys and Oracle.
