ICC Men's T20 WC'24: Tucker, Reiffel to Officiate India vs Afghanistan Super 8
Rodney Tucker and Paul Reiffel are set to officiate as on-field umpires, with David Boon serving as the match referee, for India's first Super 8 stage encounter against Afghanistan in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Joining them, South Africa's Allahudien Paleker will fulfill the role of TV umpire, while England's Alex Wharf will act as the fourth umpire.
Richard Kettleborough and Richard Illingworth are slated to officiate as on-field umpires, with New Zealand's Jeff Crowe appointed as the match referee for India's pivotal showdown against former champions Australia. As announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the Super 8 stage of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup, the match will take place at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia.
Chris Gaffaney and Richard Kettleborough are set to officiate as on-field umpires for the USA's landmark first-ever knockout match in an ICC Men's T20 World Cup, scheduled against South Africa on June 19. Joel Wilson will serve as the TV umpire for this match. Additionally, Joel Wilson will join Chris Gaffaney as an on-field umpire when the USA faces England in Barbados on June 23. Allahudien Paleker, making his debut in senior men’s tournaments, will fulfill the role of the fourth umpire.
On the same day, Richard Kettleborough will resume umpiring duties for the highly anticipated Group 1 encounter between Australia and India, partnering with fellow countryman Richard Illingworth. Meanwhile, Illingworth and Michael Gough will officiate Australia's opening Super 8s match against Bangladesh. Nitin Menon and Ahsan Raza have been appointed as the on-field umpires for England's clash with the West Indies.
Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, creating history in this tournament as the inaugural Bangladeshi official at an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, will serve as the TV Umpire for that match. He will also officiate as an on-field umpire alongside Chris Brown during England’s second Group 2 fixture against South Africa. Among the match referees, Jeff Crowe, the most experienced in overseeing T20Is, will officiate during England’s matches against the West Indies and South Africa, as well as Australia's encounter with India.
