4. Gulmarg

A popular skiing destination and a popular town situated in the Pir Panjal range in the Western Himalayas, Gulmarg is reknown for being “the heartland of winter sports in India”. Gulmarg is accessible by road from the city of Srinagar via Tangmarg. The town has the reputation of having a ropeway-ferry service known as the Gulmarg Gondola which at 3,979 metres is the highest in the world.

Situated in the Kangara district of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala, also known as Bhagsu is well known for being the residence of Dalai Lama. The hill station is popular for its lush green coniferous forests with cedar trees that exude peace and is a perfect getaway for the city folks. The town of McLeodganj, Dal Lake, Bhagsunag Falls, Kangra Fort, Sidhbari and Kotwali Bazar are some hotspots frequented by the tourists visiting Dharamshala.
