India Offers Immense Investment Opportunities for Australian Green Companies
Australia's High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, emphasized the burgeoning investment prospects for Australian 'green companies' in India, noting the increasing recognition of India as a favorable destination for investments from Australia.
Speaking to IANS during the India Energy Storage Week 2024, Green highlighted the active engagement of Australian investors in India's hydrogen and solar panel sectors. "As India's economy expands, Australia's perception of India as an attractive investment hub is also growing", Green affirmed.
Leading the Australian delegation at the event, Green underscored the pivotal role of India in Australia's strategy for supply chain resilience, particularly in the domain of green energy. "It's paramount for Australia to collaborate with India across the green energy supply chain", he stated, expressing delight at the robust participation of 41 Australian companies at the conference.
Highlighting recent developments, Green mentioned an increasing number of Australian firms investing in solar, wind, and other green energy sectors in India. He described India as an 'indispensable partner' and a crucial contributor to Australia's diversification agenda and supply chain resilience.
Green praised India's capacity to scale up production of electric vehicles (EVs) and solar panels, affirming India's pivotal role in Australia's economic strategy.
The India Energy Storage Week 2024 continues to serve as a significant platform for bilateral engagements aimed at fostering sustainable energy solutions and strengthening economic ties between Australia and India.
