EESL Partners with Padma Vadthya to Enhance Energy Efficiency in Telangana
State-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) is going to work together with entrepreneur, Padma Vadthya, to build up new ideas for the promotion of recently introduced energy-efficient technologies in the state. The tie-up comes on the back of a new initiative that will have a network of retail franchises to enhance accessibility towards energy-saving solutions for the residents of the state.
An entrepreneur and a leader in her own right, Padma Vadthya would bring in large experience to drive this initiative. Vanitha will help retail franchises created in her name, under the license agreement with Vadthya, expand the reach and impact of EESL. The partnership is congruent with a more comprehensive agenda of India in energy conservation and reducing the carbon footprint.
"We are extremely enthused to have Mrs. Padma Vadthya as a partner who, with her leadership skills and experience in uplifting women through SHGs, shall guide adoption of such energy efficient technologies", said Animesh Mishra, chief general manager of sales and PRCC at EESL. "The collaboration is a milestone towards making India an energy-efficient economy. We think Mrs. Padma will also inspire others to come forward and be a part of this most important movement".
The said pact with Padma Vadthya will make energy-efficient products and services available to the local community, be it advanced lighting, energy-efficient appliances, or building optimization solutions. With Vadthya's influence and networks, EESL would develop retail outlets as well, which can effectively channelize these technologies for greater dispersion.
Other than that, on the front of energy efficiency, she heads the SHG that empowers 50-100 women to maintain the lighting infrastructure in Hyderabad. In addition, she sells rented vehicles to the state government offices in Telangana.
This is also an important partnership, as Padma Vadthya is now the first woman entrepreneur to partner with EESL on a pan-India basis. EESL has, on its part, entered into a similar agreement with SK Electricals, which will thus ensure more rapid deployment of energy-efficiency measures in the state.
EESL states that such joint initiatives with local entrepreneurs not only support India in fulfilling its climate goals but also advance the cause of sustainable energy at the grassroots level.
