Be Prepared for 3 New iPhones this Year

BENGALURU: As anticipated by experts, Apple introduced two new iPhones this year—iPhone 6 and 6 Plus—just like the year before which saw the release of iPhone 5S and 5C. With Apple now laying the road for its upcoming big launches for 2015, it is expected that the company might one-up itself and release yet another model alongside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus successors.

Cowen and Company analyst, Timothy Arcuri, claims that Apple has been working on a new 4-inch iPhone that is to be released in 2015, reports The Economic Times.

Apparently, the sources within Apple’s supply chain cite that the upcoming model will be similar to last year’s iPhone 5S. However, the design would obviously take a new shape with the edges slightly more curved, while flaunting a more powerful processor—most likely the A9 chip, which will reportedly be produced by Samsung this year.

This 4-inch iPhone is also reported to occupy the “low-end” of Apple's Smartphone lineup, built with “low cost components” to keep the price down. If these claims are true along with the rumors of an alleged 12.9-inch iPad, Apple might be able to sell its iPhone and iPad lines in “small, medium, and large” by this time next year. It would make a lot of sense for Apple to sell a new version, considering the company marketed the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S as “perfect” for your hand, as there still are many people who do not want bigger phones.

Apple will initially ship between 15 and 20 million units of its rumored 12.9-inch iPad, which is expected to be launched in the spring to “reinvigorate” the category.
