2. Chanda Kochhar
Chanda Kochhar is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of India’s largest bank ICICI Bank, where she joined only as a Management Trainee. She also heads the Corporate Centre of the bank. She was named as the 20th Most Powerful Women by Forbes, in 2009. She was appointed earlier as a MD in 2009 but she is the one who is credited with ICICI's turnaround after the 2008 financial crisis. She won Padma Bhushan award, the Indian government's highest civilian honour, in 2011. She also received the "Global Leadership Award", from the US-India Business Council.
