Value of a Foreign Degree in India
Bangalore: In India, students aspiring higher education in foreign universities has turned out to be a trend in the recent times. About 500,000 students choose to go abroad every year even though there is subsidized engineering and management education in India.
There are many other reasons for the Indian students to opt foreign universities for higher education. The reason can be due to the reservation policy by which seats are not available to a large number of brilliant students; many of the private colleges in India take huge donations besides charging heavy fees, many of the universities here don’t help the students to showcase skills for development and so the students opt for foreign universities where they give greater emphasis on skill development top the students.
The fees structure for higher education in India is also pretty heavy. An engineering or management student here will pay around $120 per month as fees in the reputed institutions, while the amount is between $ 1,500-5,000 in an equivalent institution in countries like the U.S, Canada, Australia Singapore and Britain. So this may be another reason why students go for foreign universities as not all the students can get seats in the reputed institutions in India.
