Bangalore: Entrepreneurs are said to have that fire in them which grows the moment it sees an opportune moment. For them age or place is no bar, they come up with their unique ideas regardless of their educational background. However, college is said to shape the lives of students, and entrepreneurs are no exception to it. Many an entrepreneurs get their business ideas whilst in colleges, and take it forward from there. Indian Institute of Technology

The Indian Institutes of Technology are group of autonomous engineering and technology oriented institutes. There are a total of 16 IITs across various states, the prominent ones being in Bombay, Chennai, Kanpur, New Delhi, Guwhati, and Roorkee. The first IIT was founded in 1950 in Kharagpur and since then it has grown to cover major portions of the country. The admission process includes a Joint Entrance Examination IIT-JEE, which is conducted on a national level, but with a very low acceptance ratio of one in 50. The entrance exam is followed by a counseling session which helps the students select the institute and department. They have an entrepreneurship development cell, run by the students, which support upcoming entrepreneurs with mentoring, consultancy, seed fund, and networking.
