Viewsonic To Launch its Cheap Viewpad 7e Tablet soon

New Delhi: Viewsonic will soon launch an Android 2.3 based 7 inch tablet Viewpad 7e in India at less than Rs 10,000. This will be Viewsonic's second entry into the tablet market as the company already sells a tablet in India named Viewpad 7 at Rs 15000. Viewpad 7e would run on Android 2.3 Gingerbird with a 1GHZ Arm Cortex-A8 processor and 512 MB DDR2 SDRAM. It has 4 GB internal storage capacity with 32 GB expandable memory through a microSD card. The device also features a 3 megapixel rear camera and 0.3 megapixel front camera. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR. Viewpad supports Adobe Flash 10.3, providing better support for games, video streaming and other web media. "The tablet is under compliance testing in India, and as soon as that is over we will launch it in India," Girish Mantani, national sales manager of Viewsonic's tablet division in India, told The Mobile Indian. He added, "We plan to target educational institutions and students with this tablet and it will be our low cost offering." Viewsonic has not kept its promises earlier as it had said it would launch Viewpad 10 Pro way back in July. The device is still stuck at the compliance testing level.
