Bangalore: Steve Jobs died of respiratory arrest with metastatic pancreas neuroendocrine tumor as the underlying cause at about 3 pm on October 5 at his home. The late "high tech" entrepreneur's death certificate was released by The Santa Clara County Public Health Department in San Jose, California, citing the exact cause for his passing away. Apple had earlier stated that Jobs, 56, had died without providing details about the time and place. The company had informed the Palo Alto police department of California a few days before his death that Jobs was expected to die. The police department was made aware so it could have patrols ready in case large numbers of mourners gathered at Jobs' home. The iconic Apple king had resigned as company CEO on 24 August, 2011. He was diagnosed with neuro endocrine tumor, a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2003, and underwent a liver transplant in 2009. Jobs was buried at a non-denominational cemetery in Santa Clara County on Oct. 7. It is still not known who filled his certificate. Apple has refused to comment on the death certificate.
