Bangalore: Moral Policing may be the last thing a moral society wants and when a handful of men coming together to form a group to decide how others should behave, it's not moral policing, but an absolute amoral policing.
Prasanth Bhusan
Prashanth Bhushan was the latest victim at the hands of these right-wing extremists who roughed him up for speaking his mind. He was attacked by a group of young men claimed to be the members of some fringe Hindu groups for his recent statement that a referendum in Kashmir is possible. Prashanth Bhushan, a senior advocate in the Supreme Court and a prominent member of the civil society fighting for the enactment of Lokpal Bill, was dragged out of his chair during an interview with a television channel, kicked and punched repeatedly. Upon his discharge form Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Bhushan alleged that he was attacked by the right-wing group Sri Ram Sena and demanded a ban as well as social boycott of the outfit. Soon after the incident, a little known outfit called the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena claimed responsibility for the attack. Inder Verma, the only one who was arrested on Wednesday itself, claimed that he is the president of Sri Ram Sena. Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga and Vishnu Gupta, the two men who managed to escape from the scene were later arrested by the Delhi Police.
