Sony's Rebranding Mantra: Global Comprehensive Network

Bangalore: Sony has decided to kill its Playstation Network (PSN), which will now be a part of a broader network named Sony Entertainment Network (SEN). This rebranding of Sony involves new Terms of Service, User Agreement and Privacy Policy, but the company has stated that the PSN account name change will not affect current PSN account information, usernames or passwords. The users will be just asked to agree new policies before they access their accounts.

The press release state that, “This helps us get closer to our goal of establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account." Previously, PSN users logged into the gaming network using a PSN-branded account. After the change, users will be able to access both gaming and entertainment services from one SEN account.”

The Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) first came into existence in August, 2011 when the PlayStation Network, Qriocity, and Sony's music on-demand service were clubbed into one entity. This states that this broad network allows the user to access unlimited music, unlimited videos, Online PlayMemories and other Sony products in one go.
