Republic Day Celebrations Across the Globe
Bangalore: India will be celebrating its 63rd republic day on Thursday, 26 January and the whole nation is well-prepared for the auspicious moment. Apart from Indians residing in the country, NRI’s all over the world will commemorate the occasion in their own way.
Riyadh
The NRI’s in Riyadh celebrated republic day last Friday in a unique and more meaningful way. They expressed their patriotism by conducting blood donation camp and were successful in collecting 111 liters of blood .Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamaath (TNTJ); an organization from Tamil Nadu organized the programme at the King Fahd Medical City. Many non-Indians from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Egypt also took part in the camp. According to Mohamed, TNTJ President, the programme was conducted as a mark of respect to the national leaders who took part in India’s freedom struggle.
Abu Dhabi
The Indian community residing in Abu Dhabi will commemorate republic day on 26 January on the embassy premises.MK Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to the UAE will hoist the flag at 8.30am which will be followed by reading out the Indian President’s Republic day message to the country. Indian patriotic songs, traditional and cultural dances will be presented by students from Indian schools in Abu Dhabi.
