People Who Hate Republic Day
Bangalore: While the nation is brimming with the patriotic feeling, some parts of India are filled with hatred and boycott the national celebrations on 26th January. People in the zero degree temperature in Kashmir are adamant on observing the Indian Day as the Black Day. The boycott will be practiced to strike a chord among the international community that the country still denies Kashmirir's right of self-determination. Te whole territory will be mark the day with a complete shutdown. The Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani issued a statement that the country has no moral justifications for celebrating Republic Day as it occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the will. Gilani in an appeal to United Nations asked to probe the massacres of Gawkadal, Handwara and Kupwara through a war crime tribunal. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, asked all pro-India parties of occupied Kashmir to resign from power in politics; he also expects an apology from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to seek apology for having prank with the people in the name of revocation of the black law, Armed Forces Special Powers Act. Measures have been taken by the government, so that there is no mishap on the D-day. In Srinagar, the police joined by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers, carrying out surprise checks of rickshaws, bikers, passenger vehicles and pedestrians at many places. The main venue for official function at the Bakshi stadium is under workforce wearing bullet-proof jackets, holding automatic weapons and cane sticks. Close Circuit television cameras have also been installed in the city and other major towns to monitor activities of the people and transport mobility.
