Terror strike: firms cancel Bangalore visits
By
siliconindia news bureau
Bangalore: The shocking terror attacks in the financial capital of India, Mumbai, seems to be hitting Indian IT industry hard as some foreign clients have reportedly canceled their planned visits to offices of some of major Indian IT companies in Bangalore. Upcoming IT events in the city are also under uncertainty as the potential foreign participants are concerned over security situation in the technology capital of India.

Infosys, the second largest IT company in India said that planned trips by its staff to India's financial capital have been scrapped for now. Mohandas Pai, HR Director, Infosys said security has been stepped up at the company's premises and that all employees are safe.
Cisco, another IT major in India mentioned that all employees are safe and they have been requested to work from home, today.
"Employees and clients in Mumbai are safe. We continue to monitor the situation closely and have increased our security arrangements and vigilance across facilities in India. There is minimal disruption to our Mumbai operations," said Laxman Badiga, CIO, Wipro.
Most of top IT companies already have strong security measures in place like armed security guards and electric fences around their campuses and now they are planning to set up new systems like screening machines to check all the baggage entering to the office.
Many company heads were there in Mumbai to attend the E&Y Entrepreneur of the year Award event when the strikes happened. It includes Jim Turley, E&Y global Chairman and CEO, Anand Mahindra, Anil Agarwal, PRS Oberoi, Gautam Thaper, Venugopal Dhoot, K V Kamath, A M Naik, Tulsi Tanti and Prashant Ruia.

Shame on Silicon India for printing biased reports from Britain. Over the
weekend Somali pirates hijacked a chemical tanker. The British security personel
hired to protect the ship jumped overboard to save their asses and called
British navy to come get them. They left behind a crew of Indians and
Bangladeshis. Some protection! Do you hear anything about that? Not a word. This
is how they protect their image - but then Indian idiots like in Silicon India
would not understand that. Writing articles like Why India is a dangerous place
to visit and why Muslims are unhappy in India. We have had 2 Muslim presidents,
prominent muslims in Entertainment, Pharmaceutical, IT, law enforcement and
several other areas and yet they harp about disgruntled Muslims. How many
Presidents (Muslim) have the Western countries had? Or for that matter how many
Hindus are in prominent places in Muslim or the West? Stop pushing down Hindus
and blaming them for these disgruntled Muslims. Enough is enough.

Its been absolutely horrifying what the citizens of mumbai had to go thru. Its
the act of cowards to hurt innocent people and destroy property. This entire
thing is sensless n bespeaks the working of sick fanatic minds. My sister who
works with Taj Corporate office, was inside Taj when this ghastly incident
occured there and is lucky to have escaped alive, many others were not so
fortunate & our condolence is with their loved ones & families. The cold
bloodedness with which they took so many lives and the manner, is horrific
beyond description.

Long back someone very wise has said that every millitary action should be
backed with a political objective. Terrorism is also a millitary tactic backed
by sovereign elements, funded , resourced and implemented by Nations with vested
sinister political interests - there is always a political agenda.
India as a nation had always been following non-intrusive foreign policy,
standing in the global stage promoting international truce & peace. However
not having a self-defense apparatus doesnt glorify our purpose of peace & in
fact it works against it.
We definitely lack resource, central apparatus, strategic foreign studies ,
research, analysis of international politics in the defense perspective ,all of
these otherwise all strong nations in the world invest heavily in.This gap
results in lack of pro-active measures to avert terror incidences and also
results in lack of right direction to the nation's leaders towards the course
the Nation should take post such events.
Further more, India is paying for not having an apparatus which can act
against these terrorist elements in external territories or in domestic land in
order to launch offensive and speedily eliminate such terrorist establishments.
Not only offensives are required but also diplomatic apparatus should be
strong enough to launch offensives on people or sovereign organizations which
patronize such cowardly terrorist intentions with sinister political agendas.
Developing a self-defense apparatus like strong intelligence and security
apparatus, developing strength to launch diplomatic offensive against terror
elements, promoting international strategic studies , devloping millitary
capability for covert or overt actions to eliminate disruptive elements even if
it means exercising action abroad is thus call of the hour for the Indian
leaders and certainly it is not intrusive policy and all the above enables us to
bring forward peace as the key agenda, ensure stability & sustenance and
supreme of all ensure peace which promises safety to billions of innocents

I agree with Indian. Raj Thackeray is as dangerous to India as the Islamic
terrorists. Probably Raj and Bal Thackeray are hiding inside their homes.

As a British national who does business in India and for Indian companies, a
frequent visitor to your beautiful country both for business and family
holidays, our thoughts and prayers are with you and those who have been killed
and maimed. I was staying in the Taj Mahal at Gateway, as I always do when in
Mumbai, until shortly before the horrendous attack. I was not far from the Vile
Parle taxi bomb on my way to the airport. I have lost friends from the Taj
Mahal, who were murdered by the terrorists, probably trying to protect their
guests or staff. We must not forget them or the hundreds of others killed and
maimed, of all nationalities, races, religions, etc. And we will not stop coming
to India and staying in the Taj Mahal or Oberoi. We will not let such murderous
attacks prevent normal relations with India. It is a shame that some have
cancelled trips to the Infosys campus. Keep strong!

The so-called "Indian" is trying to tag a national issue like the heinous
terrorist attack with issues of regionalism and language, showing that he is
unfit to be Indian.
People like this ignite fire and instigate people paving way for terrorists to
easily carry on their operations.Lets stand united to fight against the highly
condemnable terrorist attack forgetting everything else.
One should be ashamed to even think of "Raj Thackeray" or other such things at
times where we should act more like humans and not like the dirty
politicians. The self-proclaimed "Indian" deserves to be in politics.

To stop frequent Terror attacks of recent times and it's severity, Government
has to employ security persons, twenty times more than what it is now ,with
modern weapons and put at more places.
