Hyderabad: At a time when the security of the entire country lingers in doubt, the cyberpunks have added to it through defacing the website of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), www.cidap.gov.in. The snooping of the cyber criminals was an act of objection to the increasing measures to stop cyber crimes.

However, the hackers tried building border conflicts through various abusive messages, which targeted their Indian counterparts HMG and www.andhrahackers.com. Through the messages the hackers tried to assert that the action is a response to the hacking of Pakistan's Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority's (OGRA) website, which was allegedly hacked on November 17. However, as a reply to the supposedly Indian hackers of the OGRA website who had posted the Indian national emblem, a group called Pakistan Cyber Army (PCA) had hacked the websites of ONGC (www.ongcindia.com), Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) (www.iirs.gov.in), Centre for Transportation Research and Management (CTRM) (www.ctram.indianrail.gov.in) and Kendriya Vidyalaya of Ratlam (www.kvrtm.org.in). While the ONGC website was restored within a short span of time, the others are yet under the hackers' continuous attacks.

Apart from the main website page, the cyber terror makers also sneaked into the most-wanted list on the CID website. The Additional DGP AK Khan confirmed about the illegal access to the website. He said, "We have blocked the URL, efforts are on to restore the information and track the hackers. People have to bear the inconvenience till we restore information on the website." He also asserts that the AP police are competent to deal with the hackers and that the CID personnel were tracking the server of the hackers.

But Gowtham N, an ethical hacker points out that tracking of the hackers will be definitely harder as they uses proxy chain technique, where hundreds of servers across the globe with chinks in their security, will be randomly selected and attack will be launched on the target server from them.
