Bangalore: Cyber attacks are the latest threat to the booming technology and the recent target of these bad guys is the Indian business tycoon Anil Ambani, reports Sruthijith KK from economic times. An unidentified hacker launched a phishing attack which caused Anil Ambani which made him suffered a resultant breach of security on his computer. A complaint has been lodged in the cyber crime cell of Mumbai police and they are investigating if the official email of Anil Ambani, group chairman of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), was hacked last month. On May 8, Ambani received an email sent by an India-based reporter of a global newswire service, Bloomberg. However when the corporate communications department of the company got in touch with the reporter, they discovered that the reporter had not sent any such mail. An ADAG official said that there had been only an attempt at hacking. There were no security breach and no loss of data. The official said the hackers sent the mail from an ID on the Bloomberg.tv domain. The wire service uses the Bloomberg-.net domain for its email service. This makes it evident that the mischief was carried with a clear intention of getting over Anil Ambani's email account and its data's. This poses a serious question on India's security relating to its present It network and is It capable of handling such a situation.
