80 Percent of Indian Market will be Android's by 2015


Bangalore: The smartphone market is flooded with thousands of Android mobiles. In a short span of period Android smartphones has become the top smartphone OS in the world. In U.S. Android smartphones has reached the top sales and by 2015 Google’s Android will capture 80 percent of the market in India, China and Africa, says a report by In-Stat, a market research company.

The report says that most of these smartphones will come under low cost smartphone segment and will be running on Android 2.2 or 2.3 versions, as these versions have a good blend of features and processor. These smartphones would have a single-core processor with 600 MHz speed or lower and will come under a price bracket of 7500 or lower.

Android will continue to spread its wings worldwide and mobile manufactures like Huawei, MicroMax, Motorola, Samsung, Spice, and ZTE will be in the center stage in producing these low cost smartphones. There is an interesting price war to be seen between Samsung’s Android devices and Nokia’s Window Phones devices, it is expected that Microsoft will reduce its price for Windows Phone operating system.

The report further says that the low cost Android smartphones will approach nearly 340 million users worldwide by 2015 and even the Android 4.0 will step down for low-cost devices too.
