Bangalore: Mark Zuckerberg explains his “the Hacker Way,” which stems 5 principles that he believes in which was reported by Benny Evangelista for San Francisco Chronicle, in association with Bloomberg. He spoke about his life philosophy and what he thinks as a billion dollar company CEO. He shared his views and principles with investors who were looking forward to buy the stocks of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Facebook.

“The Hacker Way” is explained through a letter by Mark Zuckerberg, in which he discusses his seemingly odd philosophy. This philosophy is judiciously followed by all employees of Facebook. Zuckerberg believes that an aggressive culture at work and style of management urges Facebook employees to constantly innovate and create, despite their status quo. Pushing one’s limits is the only way to test one’s mettle. In his letter, Zuckerberg describes the origin of his life philosophy, namely the following 5 principles –

1) Focus on Impact –

"If we want to have the biggest impact, the best way to do this is to make sure we always focus on solving the most important problems. It sounds simple but we think most companies do this poorly and waste a lot of time. We expect everyone at Facebook to be good at finding the biggest problems to work on."

Facebook has faced a host of problems since its inception but the biggest of them all has been the source of revenue. It garnered most of its revenue from a feature called Banner Advertising, in association with Microsoft. It has now come up with Sponsored Ads from this January to boost its revenue. The recent news of IPO at Facebook is speculated to boost its revenues further, with an approximate company value of about $70 to $100 billion. It also has other problems, like privacy concerns but a better company revenue will help them tackle other pressing problems.
