Patni, the Breeder of Indian Innovators, Taking its Last Breath

Bangalore: One of the oldest pillars of foundation of the Indian IT industry, Patni Computer systems (PCS) is finally taking a leave after thirty four years of earnest service. iGATE has decided to dissolve all the stocks and shares of their $1.2 Billion acquisition on May 28.

Patni Computer systems that has bred many tech giants of the country like Narayan Murthy and the other co-founders of Infosys, has been a great trend setter for both global software and hardware operations. Founded in 1978, the company has devised several brilliant business models at times when the Indian IT was stumbling and has successfully contributed in its up rise.

The iGate and Patni deal in 2011 that summed more than a billion dollar has brought great success to the acquirer as they have bootstrapped their operations in India over the famous label of PCS. PCS has also been listed in IAOP 2008-Global Outsourcing 100 Company, a service that is hugely credited to Patni.

But, why did iGATE Corp. suspend its Patni limb?
