Uniglobe Packaging Acquried By Amcor

Mumbai: Amcor, Australia based packaging manufacturer, has acquired Uniglobe Packaging, a flexible packaging business based in India for $20.7 million to expand in India.

Uniglobe Packaging was founded in 1999 and is located in Daman. It provides packaging for the food, personal care and health sectors. The clientele includes Hindustan Unilever and Cadbury India.

Ken MacKenzie, Managing Director and CEO, Armor, said, “This is an important opportunity to expand Amcor’s footprint in the high growth Indian market. The Uniglobal business comes with a strong management team, and a track record of delivering significant annual sales growth.”

The acquisition will expand Amcor’s existing footprint in India, a strategic high growth market for the flexible packaging business. According to the company, the business is strongly aligned with their existing business, serving large multi-national customers within the food, personal care and health care end markets. However, the current management will still remain with the business. The expanded management team will play a key role in supporting future growth in the Indian market.

After the closing of this deal, Armor’s new combined Indian business will consist of five manufacturing sites offering its customers innovative packaging solutions.
