Twitter Acquires Ashutosh Co-Founded Hotspots.io

Fremont: Hotspots.io, a social-media analytics company and Y Combinator alumn, has been acquired by Twitter for an undisclosed amount, reports Hotspots.io’s website.

“The company’s team will be joining up with Twitter’s revenue engineering team where we will be on developing analytics tools for Twitter’s advertising and publishing partners. We founded Hotspots.io with the vision of helping companies and individuals maximize their social media ROI through actionable and accessible analytics, and we are thrilled to be able to continue that work on a much larger scale at Twitter,” states Hotspots.io’s website.

Founded by Ashutosh Singhal, Alexander Spicer, and Matt Huang, Hotspots.io offers a demo of how the company measures the social-media influence of SuperBowl ads.

Prior to co-founding Hotspots.io, Singhal was a Software Engineering Intern at Google. He is also an Undergraduate Researcher at MIT CSAIL and MIT Media Lab. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
