Indian-founded Startup Lets Coders Build, Test in Browsers

Bangalore: Anybody in the world of Internet technology knows that a developer’s life isn’t as easy as it looks. Learning how to code is just the tip of the iceberg—and once you get there, there’s a ton of other things like trying new APIs that should be relatively easy, but aren’t.

New APIs pose a huge hurdle particularly because even before you get the hang of writing the code right, or even get a chance to write one like of the code, you have to obtain permission, set up requirements, and then go on to learn the syntax.

But what if you could get a way to write code and test it in a sandbox from within your browser? All the problems (except for learning the syntax, of course) would automatically be taken care of, wouldn’t they?

CodeNow.com is a new startup founded by Yash Kumar (an ex-Amazon employee) that focuses on helping developers to learn new APIs and decide which ones they want to work on, without spending too much time on them. The website is in a private-invitation-based beta stage so you have to sign up and wait for them to invite you to use it, but it has some interesting features already.

Read on to see how Kumar came up with the idea, and how CodeNow.com helps developers
