Har Govt To Observe Vivekananda's Birthday As 'Natl Youth Day'



CHNADIGARH: Haryana Government has decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on January 12 as 'National Youth Day' and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will unveil the new sports policy of the state on the occasion.

"A state-level programme would be organised on January 12 at Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak where Khattar would be the chief guest. On the occasion, the Chief Minister would unveil and announce the new sports policy," Haryana's Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Anil Vij said here today.

He also said that on 'National Youth Day', marathon and seminars would be organised in all the districts.

Ministers and MLAs of the areas concerned would be invited to participate in marathon and a seminar on the topic 'Contribution of youth in building society' would be organised in all the universities, colleges and schools of the state on that day, he said.

Vij said, besides this, other topics of the seminar would be 'Swami Vivekananda - an Ideology', 'Contribution of youth in drug de-addiction', Contribution of youth in eradicating evil practice of female foeticide', Relevance of holy Gita in life', 'Message of Karma in Gita and role of youth in Swachh Haryana-Swachh Bharat campaign'.
