In 2005 Ellen MacArthur broke the record for the fastest solo circumnavigation of the globe. She was a trend setter in all aspects, her remarkable achievement washed off the thinking that women are substandard in long-distance sailing. In 2012 she built the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the vision of this charity foundation is to encourage people to re-think, re-design and build a sustainable future.
