44 Pct Cos Globally Plan to Increase IT Spending in 2012



Bangalore: ISACA a nonprofit global association of more than 95,000 IT governance professionals released a survey report which included more than 3,700 IT professionals who are members of ISACA.

                                                                                               

The survey showed that, nearly half of respondents’ enterprises (44 percent) are planning to increase their IT-related investments selectively in the next 12 months, based on expected contribution to business value. The survey also showed that 74 percent of executive teams consider information and technology to be very important to the delivery of the enterprise’s strategy and vision.

ISACA also released COBIT 5, which is the only business framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT. COBIT is globally accepted framework which is in use at enterprises worldwide for more than 15 years, it promotes continuity between an enterprises’s IT department and its overall business goals.

The Survey ‘2012 Governance of Enterprise IT (GEIT) Survey Global Edition’ was based on a set of questions.

Summarizing the ISACA survey: In the past 12 months
74% consider information and technology to be very important to the delivery of the enterprise’s strategy and vision.
52% respondents said that ‘Lack of IT Staff’ was the biggest problem their enterprises experienced in previous year.
48% of responding enterprises experienced project overruns
41% experienced a high cost of IT with a low or unknown return on investment.
38% said there was a disconnect between business and IT strategies.
22% experienced a security breach.
21% reported challenges related to mobile device security.
58% said their enterprise use a framework/standard for governance and management of enterprise IT assets and services.
