10 Cities Soon to Turn into Economic Powerhouse



Bangalore: According to the McKinsey study, half of the global GDP came from 380 cities in the developed regions with over 20 percent GDP coming from 190 North American cities alone in 2007. But in 2025 list 600 of cities will no longer hold these developed cities. It is expected that almost 136 cities from the developing nations will make it to the top 600 list. It is believed that China will contribute 100 cities whereas India will contribute 36 global cities. So here is the list of the top 10 cities of India that will make it to the top 600 list.

New Delhi

New Delhi is the capital of India and is the seat of executive, legislative and judiciary branches of the Government of India. It is also known as the microcosm of India and serves as the centre of the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is one of the world’s top global cities and is the 2nd most populous metropolis in India. One of the Northern India’s largest commercial and financial centres, Connaught Place is located in New Delhi. Other commercial areas are Barakhamba Road and ITO. The service sector has expanded along the time as the skilled and educated workforce has attracted many multinational companies. The key service industries include IT, telecommunications, hotels, banking, media and tourism. The GDP in 2010 was $48 billion and is expected to raise up to $211 billion by 2025; similarly the per capita GDP in 2010 was $7,000 and is expected to increase up to $19,000 by 2025.
