Samsung Galaxy Note Gets ICS Update in India


Bangalore: The Samsungs first tablet-cum-smartphone – Galaxy Note is getting the latest version of Android operating system. The company has started rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Note in India.

This update will bring new UI enhancements along with Samsung’s TouchWiz. This update also features a series of S-Pen optimized application called as the Premium Suite including a new S-Note app and S-Memo widget.

This update pack is bundled with 318 MB and is available OTA (Over-the-Air), but some users’ claim of not receiving the update due to huge size. But the company suggests users to try connecting their Galaxy Note to desktop or laptop and use Samsung Kies Air application for up-gradation.

For those who don’t know, the Galaxy Note is a blend of smartphone and a tablet. It is powered by Dual-Core 1.4 GHz Exynos microprocessor with Mali-400MP graphic chip, 1 GB of RAM and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The device features a large 5.3 inch, HD Super AMOLED display at 1280x800 pixels resolution, 16GB of built-in memory, an SD card slot, 8 MP camera on back and a front-facing 2 MP camera for video chat.
