BSNL Budget Tablets Gets 1 Lakh Pre-Orders


Bangalore: BSNL recently launched three new cheap tablets with Pantel, a Noida based manufacture. These three tablets are bundled with BSNL connection and have a price bracket of 3499 to 12500. These tablets are set to give the world’s cheapest tablet ‘Aaksah’ a tough competition and now BSNL has got one lakh pre-orders for these tablets which confirms that Indian tablet market is going to witness a new phase for sure.

"We have received more than one lakh pre booking orders over phone and online for the three tablets which we have launched in association with BSNL, said Virendra Singh, MD, Pantel Technologies, reports The Mobile Indian. He also said "Apart from the consumers' interest, we have also got an order for two lakh tablets from Sahara India."

These three models include; a low cost entry level tablet and two mid range tablet models. The entry level tablet Pentel T-PAD IS701R comes with 1 GHz processor, 256 MB of RAM and runs on Android 2.3 operating system. The tablet has 7 inch touchscreen, 2 GB of internal memory can be expanded by up to 32GB. The tablet features Wi-Fi, HDMI port and VGA front facing camera. This entry level tablet has a price tag of 3499.

The second model T-PAD WS704C is a mid ranged tablet which comes with 7 inch touchscreen and has same specification as the entry level IS701R tablet, but this tablet has 3G connectivity via SIM slot. It has a built-in A-GPS, accelerometer sensor for auto-rotating screen, Bluetooth, 2 MP rear camera and 512 MB of RAM for faster performance. This tablet has a price tag of 10999.

The third model T-PAD WS802C is a bit expensive among all three. The tablet comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, is powered by 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, has a SIM slot for 3G and 2G connectivity and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. Other feature includes 4 GB of internal memory, built in GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for connectivity. This tablet is available for 12500.

All three tablets will hit the store and BSNL outlets by this March.
